Addison Township Community Mental Health Board Approves Additional $140,653 in Community Mental Health Grants

ADDISON, IL — The Addison Township Community Mental Health Board (ATMHB) approved an additional $140,653 in grant funding at its May 20, 2026 meeting to support expanded mental health, domestic violence prevention, respite care, recreation, and supportive service programming for Addison Township residents.
These awards bring the Board's total Calendar Year 2026 grant funding commitments to $1,302,403, supporting a broad continuum of mental health, substance use, developmental disability, prevention, and supportive services throughout Addison Township.
The approved funding supports five agencies and a range of programs designed to address behavioral health needs across the community, including services for youth, families, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
The following grant awards were approved by the Board:
  • A Caring Place — Respite Care — $4,320
  • Center for Advancing Domestic Peace — Beliefs & Skills for Domestic Peace – Intimate Partner Abuse and Healthy & Responsible Relationship Skills – Other Family Member Adult Abuse — $40,154
  • Fenton High School — Mental Health Services — $50,400
  • Hope’s Front Door — Immediate Assistance Program (IAP) and Pathways Programs — $5,200
  • Northeast DuPage Special Recreation Association (NEDSRA) — Programming — $40,579
These additional awards reflect the Board’s continued commitment to strengthening the behavioral health system within Addison Township,” said Annie Jaworska, Chair of the ATMHB. “The programs approved this spring help expand access to prevention, supportive services, school-based mental health support, respite care, and specialized programming that improve quality of life for Township residents.”
The May awards build upon the Board’s previous 2026 funding cycle approvals and further support the Mental Health Board’s mission to invest Township resources into accessible, community-based services that address local behavioral health needs.
The Addison Township Community Mental Health Board, commonly referred to as the 708 Board, is composed of Township residents who guide funding decisions and community initiatives supporting mental health, substance use, and developmental disability services. The Board evaluates grant applications, monitors funded programs, and works to ensure accessible, effective services for the Addison Township community.
